Traditionally, the Booch! Sunday is the most divers day of the festival; various international and Dutch bands, hiphop-acts and local heroes find their way to the stage between 2pm and 11pm. Closing act of the 2011 edition is Pete Philly. Heerlen will be one of the first places to experience the songs of the debut album One of former Pete Philly & Perquisite frontman. An unofficial European première for the Booch! Festival. Nice details: in Philly’s new band we find the young musician Gino Bombrini, born and raised in Heerlen. Second main act is popular powerpop-band Destine who released their new single Stay on June 16th. After an impressive show on Pinkpop 2010 now on the Booch! stage.
Nintendocore and afro-beat
The Booch! line-up has a huge variety in musical styles. So you can see and hear both the inventors of the Nintendocore genre, the American band Horse The Band, as well as the young Dutch afro-beat thrill Jungle By Night, nine youngsters in the age of 16 to 21 from Amsterdam with the urge to play funk like only Africans do. Local heroes Audiofeel will be back on Booch!, but now as “3FM Serious Talent”. The shortest band name in the history of Booch! is F, groovy, funky rock with a hint of hiphop. Finally, opening on the main stage is the new band Dead Man’s Curse, consisting of former Born From Pain and 37Stabwoundz members, playing kick ass hardrock.
The second Booch! stage is reserved for new talented acts living in the euregional triangle Hasselt – Liège – Aachen. First up is Pavarana, best kept rock-secret from Geleen winning both the national Kunstbende and Popsport contest this year, just like their fellow inhabitans of Geleen DeWolff earlier in their career. Two acts come from the Hasselt area: the singing sisters of Lili Grace, accompanying themselves on cello, violin and piano, and Mon-o-Phone, whose music is described as Organ Beat Blues. Piano Club from Liège plays fresh electro pop, while Mioki Crew is a hiphop-turntable duo from Aachen. From our own city of Heerlen Booch! presents The Mondays, a jazz/funk trio and the final goodbye show of ForgetToForgive.
